WTC Tragedy Remembered:
September 11, 2005

9-11 Memorial Service

This year in Remembrance of September 11, 2001, a Candlelight Memorial Vigil was held at 7:00 p.m. in Hasbrouck Heights at the Fireman’s Memorial Park At the Circle.

Mayor Ronald R. Jones and Councilman Thomas Meli, and several Hasbrouck Heights Clergy participated in the service: Rev. Edward Glasser, Associate Pastor of Community United Church of Christ, Rev. Karyn Wiseman, Pastor of the United Methodist Church, and Rev. Msgr. Rodrigo San Pedro, of Corpus Christi Church.

The guest speaker, Paul Carris, a survivor and hero, related his thoughts. [Paul's Address]

There was special music by Carron Moroney who played the flute and "The Star Spangled Banner" was sung by Conchita Parker.

The theme of the program was Remembering the Day, The Good that Has Come, and Hope for the Future.   The Hasbrouck Heights Clergy spoke on these topics and shared related Biblical Scripture.

The public was encouraged to provide their personal insights on 9-11. The boro provided forms containing three response areas.

The forms were collected at the Candlelight Memorial or were dropped off at the boro clerks office. These responses will be posted in the Hasbrouck Heights Free Public Library. ###
