Camping with the Classics
The Hasbrouck Heights Public Library held a Family Camp-in on Friday and Saturday, August
1st and 2nd, from 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. About 120 attended, with 80 sleeping over.
Evening-long activities featured entertainment with Presley & Melody who engaged the
children with audience participation songs and dance. There was scary storytelling around
an indoor campfire by members of the Mayor and Council. Other activities included arts and
crafts, board games, gaming activities such as fishing, face painting, ballooning, movies,
wii games for teens, and lots of prizes and refreshments.
At 2 a.m. it was lights out with a 7 a.m. bugle wake up call. A light breakfast was
provided before departure. ###
