of www.hasbrouck-heights.net © 2008 All Rights Reserved.![]() Andy Feintuch Memorial Wrestling Tournament The Andy Feintuch Memorial Wrestling Tournament was held on Sunday, February 24th from 8:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hasbrouck Heights High School in the new gym. Ten towns participated in this qualifying District Tournament with about 600 wrestlers from Hasbrouck Heights, Glen Rock, Montvale/Woodcliff Lake, Riverdale, New Milford, Waldwick, Saddle River, Cliffside Park, West Highlands and Union City. The Heights team earned 8 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze medals. The team competes in the Twin-County Junior Wrestling League (TCJWL). This invitational tournament was hosted by the Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department. The Recreation Director is Robert Brady. The Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Wrestling Program was established in the 1970s for children 6 years old (1st Grade) to 14 years old (8th Grade). Typically, 50 to 60 kids participate annually, with 59 boys participating in the 2007-2008 recreation wrestling program. The program is funded by the Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department. Registration fee is $45 per child and includes uniform, practice uniform, tournament entry fees, insurance and practice/training and supervision. Wrestlers practice at the Franklin Fitness Center two to three times a week for the 16 tournaments/matches. The programs goal is to instill positive values such as goal setting and self-discipline, while at the same time making the sport an enjoyable experience. The Hasbrouck Heights volunteer coaches were: Dan Guido (Head Coach), Steve Dal Cortivo, Alex Garcia, Marty Innis, George Rose, Mark Stefannelli, Drew Goodman, Brian Moran and Dan O'Malley.
